Parental Engagement

At Woodfield Primary School we see the relationship between the school and parents/carers as vital in supporting the development of every child. We offer our parents a range of opportunities to be a part of school life from joining their child in school for lunch to influencing policy and practice.

New for 2018-19: Woodfield Parent Ambassadors

This year we have launched a number of new ambassador roles for our children in school. This means the our children are truly having their say in making their time at Woodfield the best it can be. We are very pleased to say that we are now on the hunt for our first ever Parent Ambassadors. Look out for information on what the Parent Ambassador roles will entail and how you can apply which will be sent via email very soon.

Family Learning at Woodfield

We really value the chance to work together with parents to support our children’s learning. We are really excited to be able to offer a number of family learning opportunities in school and were pleased to start the ball rolling, this school year, with a fun Christmas Craft session in December. We had a great turn out and all involved had a great time making some special decorations for home.

In the Spring term, 10 of our KS2 families  took part in a Lego Robotics course to help them begin to understand simple computer coding.

Functional Skills

This year we are working in partnership with Adult, Family and Community Learning to offer functional skills courses for our community. Currently we are offering both English and Maths courses.

Healthy Families Taskforce

As part of our Developing Excellence Plan 2018-19 we are working hard to ensure that all members of our community have Healthy Minds and Healthy Lives. In July 2018, we established a working party, with parents from across all key stages, to identify ways that we could work together. Parent Questionnaire 2017-18

Following the great response we received to our 2016-17 parent questionnaires, we consulted parents again in 2017-18 to establish the impact of the changes we brought into place. Click on the image below to see what our parents had to say.

Parent Questionnaire 2016-17

Thank you for your great response to the parent questionnaires which were completed during the Spring term. We analysed the results and have put a number of things in place as a result. We also put together a number of leaflets which were shared with parents.
