*** School Closure Update – last updated 18th March 2020 ***

Having watched the announcement from Boris Johnson I wanted to reassure you that we will be working hard tonight to put together the best possible contingency plan moving forward. We recognise that the announcement of school closures will cause many of you further anxiety and distress. Please know that we will do all we can to support ALL our families during this difficult time. Once we have more details about who is classed as key workers and how we are going to arrange free school meals for those who want them we will get back in contact with you.

Thank you for your continued support as we try to organise our response to tonight’s announcement.

Many thanks

CORONAVIRUS UPDATE

SCHOOL CLOSED FROM MONDAY 23RD MARCH 2020

Dear Parents/Carers,

Following the announcement from the government this afternoon, the school will be closed at the end of the school day on Friday 20th March 2020 until further notice.

It was also announced that children of key workers (the full list of which will be published tomorrow) will still be able to attend school. In order for us to be able to plan how we are going to provide this support could you please complete and return the form below to us, if possible by tomorrow, if you think your occupation might be on the list and require your child to continue at school.

We are going to look into the voucher meal scheme that was mentioned this evening. Once more details become available we will get in touch with you again about implementing this.

Please contact the school direct tomorrow if you are unable to print out this letter and need to complete the form. We will contact the parents of children with EHCP plans or social workers directly.

As you can appreciate we are trying to respond effectively to fast moving events and some of the details still seem a little vague at this time. The announcement says that exams are cancelled in May and June, we are presuming that includes the Key Stage 1 and 2 SATs tests and Year 1 Phonics check but this is still subject to confirmation.

We will keep you informed of all developments throughout the day tomorrow and Friday as we prepare for this unprecedented event and thank you for your continued support.

Request for pupil to continue at school after Friday 20th March 2020
