Doncaster Book Awards 2016

On Wednesday 5th October 2016 4 of our children were lucky enough to be invited to attend the launch of the 2016 Doncaster Book Awards at the Doncaster Dome. The event kicked off with a poetry jam led by hilarious poet A F Harrold.  Then after lunch top comedian and author of the children’s books “The Bolds”, Julian Clary, accompanied by the book’s illustrator David Roberts, read live extracts from the book and inspired the budding artist in all of us by drawing live on stage!

School has ordered all 10 of the Primary Books that are up for an award and has also joined the DCLT reading scheme. Any child in KS2 who reads one of the ten books will get a special book mark stamped by the school and will then be able to cash this in for a free swim or skate at the Doncaster Dome!  So if you read all 10 books that’s 10 free swimming or skating sessions you can have – wow !
